King Edward VI Grammar School, Retford

This photo was kindly donated to John Palmer by Steve Hill (far right). In the background is what is believed to have been the temporary construction known as the Tin Tab. In 1977, I seem to recall all that was left of this building was a heap of dismantled wooden sides. [webmaster 2021-12-14 12:44:52]

Why was it called the Tin Tab? After I passed a house with the same name, somewhere entirely different, I realised there must be a good reason. Take a look at the Wikipedia Tin Tabernacle article for what I believe is an explanation. [webmaster 2021-12-14 12:48:31]
